Terms of Service
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Service description
Robotsread is a diagnostic tool that accepts a URL and returns a verdict about whether the page can be indexed by a search crawler, based on the rules found in robots.txt, meta robots tags, X-Robots-Tag headers, and canonical links. The service is stateless: no accounts, no stored data, no persistent storage server-side.
No accounts, no stored data
Robotsread does not create user accounts, store user profiles, or persist submitted URLs. Each check is independent and no record of it is retained after the response is returned.
Billing and payments
Free plan (current)
The single-URL checker is free. No payment is required to use it. No billing information is collected or stored.
Pro plan (not yet available)
A Pro plan with batch checks and API access is planned but has not been built. It is not available for purchase today. No payment processor is connected to this site — the site cannot accept real payments, process cards, or charge customers.
Future billing policy
When the Pro plan launches, these terms will be updated with the specific price, billing period, and payment terms. The intended billing model is a recurring subscription billed monthly. Until then, this section describes the intended policy in plain language so that the planned terms are transparent:
- What you buy: a Pro subscription grants access to batch checks and the API for the subscription period.
- Price and billing period: the price will be stated on the pricing page at launch. Subscriptions will be billed monthly in advance.
- Failed payments: if a charge fails, access will continue for a 7-day grace period. A second attempt will be made 3 days after the first failure, and a third attempt 3 days after that. If all three attempts fail within the grace period, access will be suspended until a payment succeeds.
- Refunds: no refunds for partial months. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
These future terms are not in effect. They describe the intended billing policy for a plan that does not yet exist. No billing relationship exists between any user and the operator until a payment processor is connected and the Pro plan is offered for sale.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Robotsread only for legitimate diagnostic purposes. You may not use the service to probe or attack websites, to circumvent rate limits or access controls, or in any way that violates the laws of your jurisdiction.
The service fetches only the URL you enter and that origin’s robots.txt. It does not crawl sites or follow links automatically. Submitting a URL may cause the service to make a request to that URL’s server, which will appear in that server’s access logs.
Intellectual property
The Robotsread name, mark, and website are the intellectual property of the operator. No licence is granted to use them for any purpose other than accessing the service.
Disclaimer of warranties
Robotsread is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty, express or implied. The verdict produced by the service reflects what the indexability rules say, not what any search engine actually does. The service may be unavailable, may produce incorrect results, or may be discontinued at any time.
Limitation of liability
In no event shall the operator be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, including but not limited to incorrect verdicts, service downtime, or reliance on the results for business decisions.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision. No active notification of changes is sent. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
No governing law or jurisdiction has been designated, because no legal entity has been registered. Once the operator registers an entity and provides a jurisdiction, these terms will be governed by the laws of that jurisdiction.
Contact
No contact address has been established for this service. The operator has not yet set up a way to receive inquiries. If you have a question about these terms, you should refrain from using the service until a contact method is published.
